SVTC Expands Analytical and Engineering Services
Leases 80,000 Square-Foot Facility in San Jose
(FSA Suppliers Expo & Conference, Booth 616) SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Sept. 10, 2007 — SVTC™ Technologies, the semiconductor process-development fab, has expanded its analytical offerings for development customers that require turnkey development services and the latest industry tools. In addition, it has expanded its engineering services and leased 80,000 square feet of office and lab space next to its existing fab.
SVTC’s newly appointed general manager of technology services, Jack Blaha, will oversee the fab’s portfolio of engineering and analytical services. (See release entitled, “SVTC Technologies Names Jack Blaha Tech Services GM.”)
“Development in the competitive semiconductor business is all about speed. Moving wafers quickly through our fab simply isn’t enough anymore - our customers have asked for faster turn-around times on analytical services too. Within just a few months of becoming an independent company, we’ve secured access to a full range of analytic resources which will insure fast turn-around on wafers processed in our fab. ” said Scott Marquardt, SVTC’s vice president of sales, marketing and strategic business development. “Much of the process development work here requires analytic feedback to confirm hypotheses and determine working parameters. For that reason, linking our analytic and process technologists will provide highly relevant, actionable results,” Marquardt said.
Analytical Capabilities
SVTC has added analytical capabilities to its process development
portfolio. These analytical services provide the atomic-scale imaging
and surface analysis required by customers as high technologies trend
to smaller and smaller features. This full range analytical capability
offers SVTC customers real time direct access to tools and expertise.
Engineering Services
SVTC now offers process-development services ranging from single-point
recipe creation to process module integration. SVTC customers can now
leverage their own resources with SVTC’s skilled technologists to speed
development and lower their ongoing costs.
SVTC engineers are highly skilled in the areas of litho, thin-films, etch, CMP and integration. They can support development on technology nodes ranging from >.5um down to the more advanced <65nm nodes. In addition to its investment in engineering, SVTC recently introduced OPC and reticle support as a means of providing professional support in the initial stages prior to silicon development.
New 80,000 Square Foot Facility
The service expansion coincides with the move into an
80,000-square-foot facility which contains lab and office space for up
to 200 staff and resident customer engineers. It is located at 3833
North First Street in San Jose, next door to SVTC’s existing
40,000-square-foot fab building.
